| My first SLR camera, a Minolta, was purchased at the age of sixteen from the Naval Commissary in New London, CT. Since then, I’ve had many cameras, but each has been a trusted companion as I’ve journeyed through my life documenting family, friends, momentous events and travel excursions. Guided intuitively, I have always had an innate sense for the important elements of light, color, form and composition that make a photograph come “alive.”
I studied fine art at both the University of Hartford Art School and the University of Northern Arizona. In 2005 I graduated Phi Theta Kappa with my associates degree in Fine Arts/Photography from Tunxis Community College in Farmington, CT. I was chosen as the recipient of the Annual Photography Award from the college photography department. Since graduation, I have continued my pursuit of personal and professional development by attending workshops at the Maine Photographic Workshops and Woodstock Center for Photography and with Sean Kernan at his studio in Stony Creek, CT. |
